FAQs
What is the procedure?
After your initial consultation, the treatment can be done within clinic or in the comfort of your own home/office in a very easy and safe manner.
The nutrients are infused intravenously via a cannula.
The treatment can last from 15 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the amount of nutrients needed.
You can sit comfortably, listen to music, watch the TV, read a book with a refreshing drink or simply close your eyes and relax.
The treatment generally involves minimal discomfort and you can resume your activities immediately after.
Is it safe?
Yes, IV Vitamin Therapy is a safe, effective, and minimally invasive method that is well tolerated by most people and has a low risk of serious side effects.
Before any treatment begins, the medically trained team at ThrIVe will test your vital signs, monitor your blood pressure and carefully examine your health history.
Are there any side effects?
With IV Vitamin Therapy, side effects are infrequent and minimal. The most common side effect is irritation at the IV insertion site. Some people may experience a sensation of warmth and flushing during treatment or have the taste of vitamins in their mouth shortly after the infusion.
During your consultation it will be discussed with you the doses of the vitamins that you will receive. Although high doses of vitamins are more easily tolerated through IV therapy than oral vitamin supplements, it is a good idea to start off with a low dose and work your way up to minimise sensitivity.
There is a very low risk of serious adverse side effects such as imbalances, overload of vitamins, fluid overload etc when used at an appropriate dose and range of infusion.
Rare side effects could include a headache and fever.
How soon will I see results?
Results will begin to show fairly quickly. Most clients experience mild improvements at the beginning, and those benefits continue to increase with subsequent visits.
Depending on your prescribed IV Infusion treatment plan, there may be a ‘Build up’ stage early on to get your body prepared for the full dose of vitamins.
Is there anyone who can’t have IV therapy?
Clients with allergies to any of the components or anyone who has moderate to severe kidney disease and pregnant women are not able to have IV therapy.
The full list of medical conditions is listed on the medical consent form.
How often can you have them?
Frequency varies by individual, but most people benefit from every 2 - 4 weeks or as needed.
You may notice a boost in energy, mental clarity and general wellbeing in the first 3 - 5 days after your drip. This is because your body receives a concentrated dose of essential nutrients that are immediately absorbed.
However, this initial ‘high’ may naturally plateau after 5 days which is completely normal as it means your body has used what it needs and your levels are beginning to return to baseline.
To keep your energy, immunity and hydration consistently topped up, we recommend booking in a drip every 3 - 4 weeks. This helps to maintain steady nutrient levels, so you feel great long term.
